What is Functional Soil Health?

The diversity of soils means that soil health must be contextualized by land use rather than generalized. A desert soil with low organic matter and crusted in salt is just as healthy as a peat soil with 100% organic matter. Neither are good for agriculture.

The Functional Soil Health Lab focuses on generating local solutions to improve the sustainability of viticulture while improving crop quality and yield.
